It is an all in one machine which allows its users to print, burn the screen without any darkroom and dry it at one place.
If you want to make gift cards by using your YUDU personal cardshop screen printing machine then you need to follow these instructions:
Step 1: Choose the image that you want to print.
First of all, you must choose what you want to print. It is recommended that you do not choose an image with too many fine lines. You can choose easy images like a tree or simple letters.
Step 2: Get your image printed.
For this step, you many use your normal inkjet printer. Print your chosen image using your inkjet printer. You have the choice to either get your image printed on a normal paper and then cut it or you can also get it printed on a transparency paper. Since, transparency papers are expensive and cost about fifty dollars for fifty transparency papers, it is recommended that you print your image on a normal paper and cut it and if your image is a simple one then it will work just fine. However, if your image is more detailed then a transparency paper is recommended for printing your image. If you are using a transparency paper then make sure that your image is opaque. If it is not dark enough then at one more layer it.
Step 3: Applying the emulsion.
Now, apply the emulsion on the bottom screen of your YUDU. It is that part which is not inside the frame but, is on the surface. Now, spread your emulsion on the entire screen by using the squeegee. Make sure that you apply a thin and even coat of emulsion. It is recommended to apply the emulsion on the both sides of the screen, but, applying the emulsion on one side works fine as well.
Step 4: Let it dry.
Now, put your screen in a horizontal position and let it dry. It will take around two to three hours to dry, depending upon how much emulsion you have applied. If you want to speed up the process then you can turn on the fan but, make sure that it is not pointing directly in the position of the emulsion.
Step 5: Get it done.
Expose the screen to a 150-watt lightbulb and place your image on the bottom side of the screen and make sure that the darker portion is touching the one that is touching the screen. Place a glass on it to hold it tight and turn your light on. After 40 minutes, take the image off and put the screen under tap water, then place that screen on top of your gift card to print the image on it.
Simple and similar to the normal silk screen printing process of other items that has virtually flat surface. This is great for DIY projects or also for sale. If you are planning to start a gift card printing business, using YUDU is a great start.
